1951 Coffee Company is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering refugees and immigrants through a meaningful Barista Training Program, employment at our own cafe and partner cafes and social integration. By blending the warmth of coffee with the strength of community, we provide a pathway for refugees to rebuild their lives in the United States. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, we create opportunities in one of the most culturally diverse regions in the nation, transforming the coffee industry into a model for inclusion and belonging. Our team includes 11 talented barista women, two barista men, three executive women staff, and one male executive director, all united in driving our mission forward.
We bridge the gap left by limited resettlement support, offering barista training, job placement services, and permanent employment opportunities. Our online store extends our mission nationwide, allowing customers to support refugee empowerment through high-quality coffee products. With a fully functioning website, nationwide shipping, and a commitment to excellence, 1951 Coffee Company exemplifies the power of social enterprise to drive change, create opportunities and foster a welcoming and protective environment for employment.
